Senior Structural Draughtsperson

Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Draughtsperson to join their team. This role is based in Vereeniging, Gauteng, and operates on a hybrid basis, offering a mix of in-office and remote work flexibility.

• Produce detailed structural drawings, reinforcement schedules, and 3D models using AutoCAD, Revit Structure, and other relevant CAD software.
• Interpret structural engineering designs and calculations to create clear and accurate construction drawings.
• Collaborate closely with structural engineers to review and refine designs, ensuring constructability and adherence to project specifications.
• Prepare drawings for various project stages, including concept design, detailed design, and construction documentation.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and industry best practices.
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain organized project documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities and material take-offs.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, electrical) to ensure integrated designs.
• Uphold high standards of drafting quality and accuracy.

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification, or extensive relevant experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Structural Draughtsperson, with a strong portfolio.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit Structure, and ideally other relevant 3D modeling software.
• Solid understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.
• Familiarity with South African building codes and standards (SANS).
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule, balancing remote and office-based work in Vereeniging.
