Remote Chemical Engineer - Process Safety Specialist

Our client, a global leader in chemical consulting and safety management, is seeking a dedicated Remote Chemical Engineer with a specialization in Process Safety to join their expanding virtual team. This position is crucial for ensuring the safe design, operation, and maintenance of chemical processes for a diverse international clientele. • Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, HAZID, and LOPA studies.
• Develop and review Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments.
• Perform quantitative risk assessments (QRA) and consequence modeling.
• Develop and implement robust Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Provide technical expertise on inherently safer design principles.
• Review safety-related documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and emergency response plans.
• Investigate process safety incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Deliver training and guidance on process safety best practices to clients and internal teams.
• Stay current with evolving safety regulations and industry standards globally.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering with a strong focus on process safety.
• Proven expertise in conducting various PHA methodologies.
• Thorough understanding of international safety standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, Seveso Directive).
• Experience with consequence modeling software is advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration is preferred.
