Senior Bridge Engineer

• Lead the structural design and analysis of bridges, including superstructure and substructure components.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations for various bridge types (e.g., concrete, steel, composite).
• Utilize advanced structural analysis software for complex bridge modeling and design.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant South African National Standards (SANS) and international bridge design codes.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and construction documentation.
• Oversee site investigations and provide construction supervision and support for bridge projects.
• Mentor and guide junior bridge engineers and design teams.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and client communication effectively.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including road engineers and environmental specialists.
• Conduct peer reviews of designs and calculations performed by other team members.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in bridge engineering materials, technologies, and construction methods.

• MSc/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering with a specialization in Bridge Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant post-graduate experience specifically in bridge design and analysis.
• Extensive experience with structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS Civil, SAP
  2000, CSiBridge, Revit).
• In-depth knowledge of SANS bridge codes and relevant international standards (e.g., AASHTO, Eurocodes).
• Proven experience in managing complex bridge projects from conceptualization through to construction.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
