Remote Process Safety Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Process Safety Engineer to ensure the highest standards of safety across their global chemical operations. Operating remotely, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust process safety management (PSM) systems. This role requires a deep understanding of chemical hazards, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with site-based engineering and operations teams to identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and foster a strong safety culture.

This is a critical position for ensuring operational integrity and the well-being of personnel and the environment.

• Develop and implement comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including PHA, LOPA, and MOC.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and risk assessments for new and existing processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP).
• Investigate process safety incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and training on process safety best practices to site personnel.
• Maintain process safety information (PSI) and ensure its accuracy and accessibility.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in process safety engineering, with a strong focus on PSM.
• Expertise in conducting Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) and other risk assessment techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices in chemical processing.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, adaptable to remote work.
