Process Safety Engineer

Our client is looking for a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to join their operations in Tembisa, Gauteng. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and integrity of all operational processes within their Oil & Gas facilities. You will be responsible for identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and implementing robust safety management systems to prevent incidents and ensure regulatory compliance. • Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs, including PHA, HAZOP, and LOPA studies.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate process safety incidents, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
• Design and oversee the implementation of safety systems and procedures for new and existing facilities.
• Provide training and guidance to operational staff on process safety best practices.

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas or chemical industries.
• In-depth knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL assessments.
• Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards (e.g., OSHA, API).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
