Remote Electrical Design Specialist

Our client is seeking a highly proficient and innovative Remote Electrical Design Specialist to join their forward-thinking organization, supporting projects relevant to Upington while operating entirely remotely. This position focuses on the detailed design and development of complex electrical systems, components, and schematics for cutting-edge technological applications. You will be instrumental in translating conceptual ideas into practical, high-performance electrical designs, ensuring adherence to all relevant standards and specifications.

• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts for complex systems using ECAD software.
• Perform component selection and specification based on design requirements, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
• Conduct thorough design reviews and simulations to validate electrical performance and identify potential issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineers, in a remote setting to ensure integrated system design.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications.
• Provide remote technical guidance during prototyping, testing, and manufacturing phases.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical design and development, with a focus on schematic capture and PCB layout knowledge being beneficial.
• Expertise in using ECAD software such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or similar tools.
• Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics, power supply design, and embedded systems principles.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and deliver high-quality results in a remote environment.
