Our client, a distinguished engineering consultancy renowned for its innovative building services design, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in HVAC systems to join their expanding team.

** Polokwane, Limpopo**. The position involves the design, specification, and project management of complex HVAC systems for a diverse range of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
The successful candidate will be a key player in delivering energy-efficient and high-performance building solutions, contributing significantly to the firm's reputation for excellence. Key Responsibilities- Lead the mechanical design of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, and heating, for various building types.
- Develop detailed calculations, schematics, and specifications for HVAC equipment, ductwork, and piping systems.
- Utilize industry-standard HVAC design software (e.g., Revit MEP, AutoCAD, HAP) for modeling, analysis, and documentation.
- Perform energy modeling and performance analysis to optimize system efficiency and sustainability.
- Collaborate closely with architects, electrical engineers, and other project stakeholders to ensure integrated and coordinated designs.
- Conduct site visits and surveys as needed to assess existing conditions and inform design decisions.
- Manage HVAC design projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers within the mechanical team.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HVAC system design, preferably within a consulting engineering environment.
- Proven expertise in designing and specifying HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and load calculation tools (e.g., HAP, Trace 3D Plus).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and building physics.
- Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid team environment, demonstrating strong self-discipline and time management.
- Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration or eligibility is highly desirable.
