Job SummaryThe Remote Sr. Game Mathematician provides creative leadership to a team of developers and artists producing video casino games by developing fresh game content and iterating on current gameplay formulas, to deliver high quality, captivating and performing games.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Evaluates complex and premium game design to ensure all points (features, frequencies, etc.) are cohesive with an exciting math model given system, mathematical and jurisdictional restraints. Recommends creative solutions to detected issues.
- Follows rules from the game design to produce the mathematical calculations for features.
- Develops in‑house simulations and theoretical calculations.
- Performs validation calculations through an in‑house simulator.
- Develops varying math models for different markets, including creating Class 2 math models using in‑house tools. Review outcomes for all game specific metrics and make all necessary adjustments.
- Reviews all math models, including those created by other team members, through game play as they are implemented to ensure they reflect the correct math model. Makes and/or proposes adjustments as needed to create world class math models.
- Prepares documentation to include math models in game software.
- Provides and reviews other team members’ documentation for certification labs and casinos.
- Validates outcomes in the field or investigates unusual player sessions as requested.
- Participates in the game design for the most complex and premium games.
- Develops tools to support new complex game mechanics including Office extensions and/or WPF applications.
- Troubleshoots and identifies complex technical issues/challenges and develops solutions.
- Serves as the team’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) and shares knowledge with, and mentors, other team members.
- Other projects and duties as assigned by the manager.
- College diploma (DEC) or bachelor’s degree in mathematics or statistics or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Combinatorics, Probability Theory and Statistics.
- 5+ years of experience with game development.
- Demonstrated proficiency with C#, WPF and .Net Core/.Net.
- Advanced Excel skills, able to create and adapt large and complex spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Must be able to work East Coast Hours.
- Knowledge of the casino game industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to work as part of a team or independently.
