Salary: £28,000-£34,000, depending on experience

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: Remote, with occasional travel for events (UK and USA) and semi-regular team meetings in Northamptonshire

Disruptive Media is looking for an organised, proactive and tech‑savvy Event Manager to help deliver a series of purpose-driven events supporting the Armed Forces, Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities, with a particular focus on large‑scale award ceremonies.

This is a remote position (with some travel required) and an end‑to‑end role – managing everything from nominations, judging and partnerships to venues, production, guest communications, content and delivery of a brilliantly executed live experience.

We’re open‑minded about what your career journey has looked like. You might be relatively early in your events career and ready to take on greater ownership, or a more seasoned events professional looking for a role with autonomy and purpose. What matters most is your strong work ethic, attention to detail and proactive embrace of technology, including AI, to improve processes and efficiency.

About

Disruptive Media

Disruptive Media was founded in 2017 to broaden the conversation about workforce diversity by shining a light on talent that is often unseen, underestimated or overlooked. We do this not only in the name of equity and fairness, but because unlocking untapped talent can help close skills gaps, drive innovation and unleash economic productivity.

True diversity goes beyond what we can see. It means embracing differences in background, experience and perspective – many of which are invisible. Our mission is to accelerate workplace inclusion for three often‑overlooked communities: the Armed Forces community, the LGBTQ+ community and the neurodivergent community.

Through large‑scale events and content‑led award platforms, we help ensure that the skills, perspectives and lived experiences of these communities are not simply acknowledged, but actively valued as drivers of innovation and growth.

The Role

As our Event Manager, you’ll project‑manage the complete event lifecycle. You’ll keep multiple work streams moving, anticipate challenges before they become problems and bring our team, partners and suppliers together around a clear delivery plan.

You’ll also play a central role on site, leading the delivery and execution of events and ensuring that the experience exceeds the expectations of guests, finalists, sponsors and partners.

This is a largely autonomous and varied role for someone who loves the buzz of live events, sweats the small stuff and takes pride in delivering to the highest standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating and managing detailed end‑to‑end event plans, timelines and critical paths
  • Managing relationships and logistics with venues, production teams and other suppliers, and confidently negotiating favourable rates
  • Finding smarter, more efficient and more sustainable ways of working
  • Managing nomination campaigns to maximise reach and participation
  • Coordinating judging meetings, processes and supporting materials
  • Managing communications with stakeholders including finalists, sponsors, partners and guests
  • Working closely with other team members to understand commercial objectives and ensure they are delivered
  • Developing event programming, including speakers, presenters and entertainment
  • Managing guest lists, ticketing requirements and seating plans
  • Managing event content and materials, including video, sound, show graphics, programmes, signage and websites
  • Leading on‑site delivery and execution at events, ensuring the audience experience meets and exceeds expectations
  • Reporting weekly and monthly on progress and performance against goals, flagging risks and opportunities early and taking proactive action to improve value and efficiency
  • Contributing to the long‑term strategy of the company by proactively bringing new ideas and concepts
About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you are someone who combines meticulous organisation and a strong work ethic with energy, initiative and sound judgement.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience and knowledge of event logistics and management,…
