Event Planner - Sports

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Event Planner specializing in sports events, to work remotely. This role involves managing all aspects of event planning and execution, from conceptualization to post-event analysis, for various sporting competitions and activities in and around Klerksdorp . You will coordinate venues, logistics, vendors, and marketing efforts, ensuring successful and memorable events. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional sports experiences, working independently to ensure all event objectives in North West are met.

• Plan, organize, and execute a diverse range of sports events, including tournaments and community sports days.
• Source and secure suitable venues, negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
• Develop detailed event budgets and manage expenses to ensure profitability.
• Create and implement marketing and promotional plans to drive attendance and engagement.
• Oversee event logistics, including scheduling, staffing, and on-site management (as required).
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.

• Proven experience in event planning and management, with a focus on sports events.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in event management software and standard office applications.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage tasks efficiently.
• A degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
