Senior Vfx Artist - Hybrid, Creative Impact

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and imaginative Senior VFX Artist to join their fully remote, globally distributed team, with an operational anchor near Vereeniging
. You will be responsible for designing and implementing stunning visual effects that enhance the impact and immersion of interactive experiences and digital media. This role requires a deep understanding of particle systems, shaders, and real-time rendering techniques. You will collaborate closely with game designers, technical directors, and other artists to push the visual boundaries, ensuring a cohesive and breathtaking visual spectacle, all managed remotely.

• Create high-quality visual effects (VFX) for explosions, magic, environmental phenomena, and UI elements.
• Develop and optimize particle systems, shaders, and simulation assets for real-time performance.
• Collaborate with game designers and programmers to integrate VFX seamlessly into gameplay.
• Mentor junior VFX artists and contribute to the development of best practices and pipelines.
• Ensure visual consistency and adherence to the project's artistic style and technical requirements.

• 5+ years of professional experience in VFX Art for games or film.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a wide range of stunning visual effects.
• Proficiency with VFX creation tools such as Houdini, Unity's VFX Graph, or Unreal Engine Niagara.
• Expertise in shader development and particle system design.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills for effective remote collaboration.
