Joining H&R Block as a Remote Tax Professional means you’ll serve clients with diverse tax needs with the support of an expert team and advanced tax training to help you be successful.
Responsibilities- Conduct tax interviews with clients and support do-it-yourself online tax clients through virtual tools (video conferencing, phone, chat, email).
- Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
- Communicate and coordinate regularly with leaders and peers about how your remote work is impacting results; teamwork is essential to success.
- Grow your tax expertise and stay engaged with ongoing learning.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification (preferred).
- Experience completing complex tax returns and individual tax returns.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.
- Experience conducting virtual tax interviews that build client confidence; tax planning and audit support experience are a plus.
- Access to high-speed, reliable internet; proficiency with technology (MS Teams and Outlook).
- Inspire confidence in clients by clearly communicating complex tax situations via phone, email and chat.
- Strong customer service, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
- High school diploma or higher; must complete continuing education and meet IRS and state requirements as applicable.
- Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during peak tax season.
- Ability to research information using tax publications and tools to understand client needs.

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions depend on factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and location. Eligibility for incentive plans may add to earnings.
Pay Range
: $16.50/Hr. – $80.00/Hr.
