Manager, State & Local Tax - Asset Management; Remote Option

Overview

Manager, State & Local Income Tax - Asset Management (Remote Option) at KPMG US. This role is in the State and Local Tax (SALT) practice and involves working with multi-state alternative investment clients within a multidisciplinary team to provide tax services and innovative solutions.

• Participate in compliance and consulting projects for multi-state alternative investment clients (hedge fund, fund of funds, private equity, real estate)
• Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing subject matter/alternative investment industry knowledge and experience
• Review tax calculations and information presented on state income tax returns
• Build and manage client relationships, and supervise, mentor, and develop staff

• Minimum five years of recent experience preparing and/or reviewing state income tax returns for pass-through and corporate entities, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; licensed CPA, EA, JD/LLM or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; if not possessed at start, one year to obtain at least one approved designation/credential
• Experience providing services to pass-through entities and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts
• Ability to foster relationships internally as well as with clients
• Strong ability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
• Exceptional writing, communication, project and team management, and tax research skills
