The Role at a Glance

This position will perform and deliver on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledge of their assigned areas of Financial Reporting responsibility. They will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reporting on activities associated with accounting principles and standards, and financial statements.

What you'll be doing
  • Preparing, analyzing and reporting on financial statements and supporting schedules according to the accounting and reporting calendars
  • Participating in accounting close including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Conducting financial analysis on consolidated and business unit results, including providing ongoing support for the business unit teams and our various other partners as needed
  • Identifying and researching reporting issues arising from application of accounting principles and standards and rules and regulations of the SEC and other regulators and assessing their applicability
  • Preparing, reviewing, and filing quarterly and annual SEC, NAIC, and other regulatory filings
  • Reviewing and analyzing quarterly and annual SEC filings, financial statements, and other financial data for press releases
  • Preparing and/or reviewing of internal management reporting
  • Preparing and/or reconciling other financial data for investor relations
  • Providing support with the coordination of SOX, MAR, and regulatory testing to comply with key controls developed for the group
What we’re looking for

Must-Haves

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) (Minimum Required)
  • 1 - 3+ Years of experience in Financial Analysis that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to identify and recommend process improvements
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi‑task while maintaining strict attention to detail
  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information

Nice-to-Haves

  • CPA or CPA Eligibility preferred
  • Prior experience in insurance/financial services
  • Experience working with Essbase, Hyperion, SAP Business Objects, People Soft
