Reports To: Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis

Location: Hybrid – Work in office with the ability to also work from home

Salary Range: $105,000 USD – $125,000 USD per year

Position Summary

New Age Industrial is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee our general accounting operations and ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP. This role will play a key part in reconciling accounts, managing month‑end closings, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to drive operational and strategic decision‑making. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with senior leadership and operations teams to strengthen financial processes, improve efficiency, and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply project‑related accounting methods to document revenue and expenses in accordance with GAAP percentage of completion standards.
• Prepare and process weekly customer invoices based on project activity.
• Perform monthly unbilled sales/work‑in‑process calculations.
• Execute daily cash and credit card entries into the ERP system to enhance real‑time reporting and month‑end accuracy.
• Review monthly expenditures including labor, materials, tools, and capital projects.
• Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Identify and record accruals, prepaid expenses, and other necessary adjustments.
• Analyze and summarize financial data to produce error‑free reports and presentations.
• Support month‑end (10‑day close) and year‑end close processes.
• Assist in financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Partner with leadership to improve financial systems, policies, and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audit activities to ensure compliance.
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses to support operational decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA or CMA certification required.
• 4–5 years of progressive experience as a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Controller.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and project accounting (percentage of completion, job costing, accrual methods).
• Hands‑on experience with Net Suite (including the Projects module).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, large data analysis).
• Solid understanding of general ledger functions and month‑end/year‑end close.
• Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform sedentary work for extended periods, including keyboard use.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
• Clear vision and verbal communication abilities for working effectively with internal and external partners.
