The starting pay range for this position is $67,338.67-$84,179.28/annual, and final pay rate will be determined based on experience, education, skills, and internal equity factors.

What you'll do

The Financial Analyst is responsible for performing complex financial activities in support of financial planning and analysis. They will also perform operational analysis in support of corporate objectives and strategies.

  • Prepare monthly financial and operational reports, including database reporting. This includes the preparation of management reports as well as reports supplied to various departments, committees, and the Board of Directors.
  • Report preparation includes but is not limited to Financial Statements, Budgeting and Variance reporting, Risk Based Lending Reports, Compliance Reporting (Asset Liability, Lending, Investment, etc.), Allowance for Loan Losses, Call Reporting, FHLB QCD, Visa Operating Certificate, Product and Branch Profitability reporting, loan goals and tracking, Charge Off and Delinquency Reporting, TDR and Modification Reporting, Repossession Analysis, Auto and Real Estate Risk Models, Investment reporting, Asset Liability reporting and other report preparation as assigned.
  • Look for trending and outliers in data and make recommendations where appropriate
  • Ensure the business units’ financial controls are compliant to all GAAP/FASB/SOX regulations and adhere to all Canvas policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on process improvements; implement changes as directed.
  • Exhibit support for the organization’s goals, values, initiatives, and cost control.
  • Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and other compliance requests and requirements.
  • Follow all safety and security guidelines to properly safeguard member and organization assets.
  • Embrace ongoing education and learn/apply new skills and software applications.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, & Ability

  • Strong technical knowledge in GAAP and FASB with experience in regulatory compliance and auditing. Skills and experience in the following areas are desirable: loan participation experience, financial institution, familiarity with not-for-profit entities, and cost accounting principles.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship building and teamwork skills with ability to develop and maintain consultative relationships with Canvas family members.
  • Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
