The opportunity
As an Investment Associate in Portfolio Solutions, the primary responsibility will be to support all portfolio management and data analytics for our private investment holdings. This role will focus on analyzing investment performance and support effective asset management of our Real Estate investments.
Who you'll work withThe Associate will work in the Portfolio Solutions Group (“PSG”), a distinct team within the Investments division, and will specifically support the Real Estate asset class. The PSG mandate is to focus on value creation and portfolio management of OTPP private investments, and the team consists of over 35 investment professionals with a long track record of working with asset classes to drive returns.
The Real Estate team comprises nearly 40 investment professionals across offices in Toronto, Dallas, London, Sao Paulo, and Singapore.
- Portfolio Strategy:
Prepare data-driven portfolio analytics to inform portfolio construction and asset allocation decisions aligned to our global real estate strategy. Including key portfolio monitoring and reporting initiatives. - Performance Measurement:
Develop understanding of OTPP returns, benchmark, and risk frameworks to assess historical and projected performance. - Technology and Data Strategy:
Support the development of a data & technology strategy for real estate investments that will set the foundation for stronger analytics & AI. Including data modernization programs and build out of key infrastructure. - Capital Management:
Support long-term capital planning by preparing deployment forecasts, as well as monitoring short-term liquidity and deployment activity. - Valuation:
Provide support to investment teams during semi-annual valuation process and interpret portfolio valuation results to inform management reporting and decision making. - Sustainability and ESG:
Assist real estate department with monitoring progress against OTPP sustainability targets. - Stakeholder
Collaboration:
Build relationships with other asset classes and functions across OTPP and contribute to portfolio wide reporting across all asset classes.
- A degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, data science or quantitative discipline with top academic credentials.
- Minimum of 2-5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in investment banking, private equity, real estate, or advisory.

Skills:
Excellent quantitative, analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to perform in-depth quantitative analysis. - Real Estate Acumen:
Deep understanding of commercial real estate sectors, operating KPIs and valuations. - Technical
Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) required. Proficiency in relational database management, cloud-based data warehousing, and data visualization tools is considered an asset. - Communication
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; with the ability to tell a story to senior stakeholders using data and relevant visualizations. - Organizational
Skills:
Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to balance multiple priorities under demanding timelines. - Attention to Detail:
Disciplined and diligent approach with rigorous attention to detail and unmatched ability to identify discrepancies or inconsistencies. - Intellectual curiosity, and adaptability in an ever‑changing, ambiguous environment, with a proactive attitude.
