Key Responsibilities- Drive pricing strategy and profitability for our Contract Property & Casualty and Contract Excess products.
- Monitor the book of business, lead rate reviews, and manage business partner requests.
- Engage in planning and forecasting while collaborating with key property and casualty business partners.
- Serve as a technical expert in actuarial methodologies, conducting complex analyses and presenting findings to drive business strategy.
- Work on larger projects with cross‑functional teams to meet business goals.
- At least 2 years of actuarial experience focused on pricing.
- Near Associate with pursuit of FAAS/FCAS preferred.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
- Experience working with underwriters and proven strategic impact.
- Proficiency in actuarial software and programming tools (Python, SQL, Databricks, R, Excel).
Our P&C Actuarial team uses state‑of‑the‑art tools and encourages innovation. As an Actuarial Consultant, you’ll perform complex quantitative analyses, provide expert advice on models, and support our product and underwriting teams. The role may also offer participation in a P&C Actuarial Rotation Program.
Detailed Responsibilities- In‑depth knowledge of actuarial methodologies and data manipulation.
- Conduct complex analyses, make assumptions, identify considerations, and develop recommendations.
- Document assumptions, methods, and sources accurately.
- Prepare and present findings to technical and non‑technical audiences at senior leadership level.
- Lead peer reviews, ensure quality work, and foster innovation.
- Maintain and build relationships with business customers.
- Lead onboarding and training for new associates.
- Apply data mining techniques and predictive modeling to improve business insights.
Reports to an Actuarial, Analytics, or Risk Management leader.
Typical Skills and Experiences- Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or data science.
- 5+ years of actuarial experience preferred.
- Strong statistical and analytical skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, actuarial software, and programming languages.
- Leadership, business understanding, problem‑solving, and customer focus.
