About the Role

The Actuarial Controllership Manager within the Finance organization will coordinate control and audit matters with the Financial Controls Unit, Internal Audit Group, and External Auditors. The role is highly visible to Finance leadership, including CRBG’s Controller, Actuarial Controller, and Chief Actuary.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and ensure operation of internal controls around actuarially determined balances, enhancing controls documentation and operating effectiveness.
  • Coordinate documentation and control procedures for experience studies with reserving actuaries, FCU, IAG, and external auditors.
  • Support implementation of actuarial systems and processes within Finance and Actuarial Transformation programs.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and US STAT; implement consistent accounting policies and procedures at an operational level.
  • Accurate accounting and reporting of future policy benefits, and reconciliations of inputs to actuarial calculations with the general ledger.
  • Drive actuarial reporting requirements, timing and financial impact ahead of filing deadlines.
  • Produce high‑quality analysis supporting reserve balances and roll forwards.
  • Handle external disclosures for reserves and reserving methodologies, including SEC reporting on Form 10‑K, 10‑Q, and 8‑K filings.
  • Perform GAAP to STAT analysis for future policy benefits and support new accounting and disclosure standards.
  • Collaborate with reinsurance operations and accounting, OAP, FCU, and related groups on significant reinsurance agreements.
  • Continuously improve processes to reduce cycle time, improve accuracy, and automate where possible.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Finance leadership, reserving actuaries, reinsurance operations, and other functions to promote best practice.
  • Manage relationships with external and internal auditors.
Skills and Qualifications
  • MUST HAVE experience with a Big 4 or comparable financial services firm.
  • MUST HAVE an accounting degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of the life insurance industry is a plus.
  • Collaborative work style.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and lead projects to completion.
  • Experience in a matrix work environment with competing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work Location
