Salary: $120,000 – $135,000 per year

Our client is a global manufacturer and distributor of decorative engineered surfaces, including high-pressure laminates, quartz and solid surfaces. For over 65 years, they have been providing a wide range of products such as countertops, furniture and retail spaces. There are over 500 designs to choose from, and their clients span across various industries including office, education, healthcare, residential, hospitality, and retail.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting – Prepare and analyze monthly and ad hoc operational financial statements and other management reporting. This includes month‑end journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, bridging performance to targets and prior periods and providing supporting explanations. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial data and KPIs to plant management and corporate finance.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting – Develop and manage the site’s annual plan and quarterly forecast including planned production, yields, labor utilization, overhead spend, capital investment, shipping plans, inventory targets and other operational KPIs. Monitor actual performance against plans and investigate variances.
  • Balance sheet – Maintain account support for balance sheet accounts including reconciliations and other supporting documents. Ensure accuracy for key accounts; inventory and reserves, prepaids and accruals.
  • Analyze and control production costs, including direct materials, labor and overhead. Implement cost‑saving initiatives and identify areas for improvement. Lead annual standard cost update.
  • Lead reporting and analysis on cost‑saving projects and help the site achieve its annual goals.
  • Lead ROI activities and provide approval on proposed capital investments.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial information; focus on inventory control, segregation of duties and delegations of authority. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations and reporting efficiency.
  • Ability to interpret financial results, understand manufacturing costing methods, variance capitalization and inventory valuation. Turn analysis into recommendations and actions.
  • Prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Handle confidential information discreetly and professionally.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Work effectively as a team member and display initiative.
  • Knowledge of applicable general ledger systems, financial charts and corporate procedures.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, MS Teams and BI reporting tools.
  • Oracle ERP and Hyperion knowledge preferred.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of accounting/finance experience with a manufacturing company that uses standard costing.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a team environment.
  • History of collaboration with IT, operational and product teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Translate detailed analysis into clear, concise and actionable recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications (not Required)
  • Controller experience in building products.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle EBS, HFM/Hyperion Planning.
  • MBA, CPA/CMA and prior experience at one of the nationally recognized accounting firms.
