Thales UK offers a Management Accountant role within the OME (Optronics & Missile Electronics) business. You will work in a fast‑paced environment supporting a broad project portfolio in the Land Sector and helping the business achieve its growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in managing the company’s reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and project accounting control processes to meet financial objectives.
- Ensure compliance with group and statutory requirements and maintain adequate financial control.
- Work closely with Operations functions and business sectors to support effective financial management.
- Maintain month‑end reporting timetable and populate consolidated tool (Magnitude) with monthly financial statements.
- Provide accurate analysis of project‑related Balance Sheet items, focusing on Unbilled/WIP/Inventory.
- Support Operations on variance analysis and reporting of Utilisation and labour recovery.
- Lead the annual rates process for OME (internal and MoD external).
- Support multi‑year budgeting activities, determination of recoverable hours (MYB), utilisation analysis, and business insight.
- Coordinate annual ICQ return for OME, identify action plans, and close non‑compliance issues.
- Serve as primary contact for MoD rates audit and deliverables in Defcars.
- Maintain inventory reporting accuracy, including Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO).
- Lead finance responsibilities for Operations/Supply and Resource Planning (S&OP) meetings per OME timetable.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting to external auditors and support audit planning.
- Ad‑hoc tasks as required.
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or experienced by professional accountancy qualification.
- Proven experience in financial accounting.
- Knowledge of Oracle/Cognos BI/TM1 is advantageous; training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication with non‑finance managers at all levels.
