As Group Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the Group s financial control environment, statutory reporting, technical accounting leadership and financial governance across a diverse and regulated group. This role sits at the heart of the organisation s financial operations and provides an opportunity to shape best practice, drive continuous improvement, and influence strategic outcomes at Executive and Board level.
Whatwill the Group Financial Controller role involve?
- Leading and developing two key finance teams, ensuring clarity of objectives, high performance and continued professional growth
- Overseeing the monthly CFO reporting cycle, setting timetables, reviewing content, and ensuring high-quality insight for the Executive and Board
- Continuous improvement of financial reporting, leveraging technology to strengthen controls, streamline processes and enhance analytical capability
- Acting as a technical accounting authority, providing guidance on IFRS, legislation updates and complex accounting treatments across the Group
- Managing the end-to-end production of annual and interim statutory accounts, coordinating internal contributors and liaison with external auditors
- Leading the external audit process, ensuring timely preparation of supporting papers and schedules
- Supporting financial planning and modelling with expert accounting insight
- Practice trained and ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with extensive post-qualification experience within a complex group environment
- Strong technical accounting capability, including deep knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting for medium or large groups, and experience of preparing both annual and interim reports
