Job Summary
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting; performing complex accounting tasks, requiring independent judgement on a day-to-day basis, and advanced managerial work. Supervises a team of professional accountants, coordinates and analyzes financial activities in the following areas: education and general (E&G), general ledger, gift and endowment, and auxiliaries fund accounting. The application of advanced accounting knowledge, including financial evaluation, and skills in the preparation of a variety of complex, regular, and special financial analyses and reports is essential.
Minimum Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in a related professional field and five (5) years of relevant professional experience, three (3) of which must have been at the supervisory level; OR a master's degree in a related professional field with three (3) years of relevant professional experience, three (3) of which must have been at the supervisory level may be considered qualifying.
PreferredEducation and Experience
- Masters in finance or accounting
- Significant experience with discounting of future inflows
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft suite
- ERP Accounting Systems
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
