The Portfolio Loan Associate at Capital Impact Partners is a crucial member of the Portfolio & Asset Management Team. This role primarily provides ongoing support and assistance to Portfolio Loan Officers (PLOs) in their asset management duties. The position is ideal for those passionate about community and economic development, offering a chance to engage in meaningful work that impacts local communities.

Reporting directly to the Director of Portfolio and Asset Management, you will be responsible for supporting PLOs in carrying out annual loan reviews, overseeing loan financial spreads, and ensuring borrower compliance with financial covenants. You will collaborate actively with your team, manage borrower interactions, and participate in various meetings that provide insights into Capital Impact’s sectors and geographical focus. As part of your role, you will also accompany PLOs on site visits and become proficient in the documentation and processes associated with asset management from loan closing to repayment.

• Support Portfolio Loan Officers with asset management duties, including completing annual loan reviews and financial spreading.
• Conduct detailed analysis of borrowers’ financial and operational performance, economic impacts, and compliance with loan agreements.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Loan Officers, managing borrower queries and facilitating loan reviews.
• Attend meetings and trainings to deepen understanding of Capital Impact’s operations.
• Accompany Portfolio Loan Officers on site visits and participate in discussions with borrowers.
• Master Capital Impact’s loan documentation and asset management systems.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a related field.
• Experience with Community Development Financial Institutions or commercial lending institutions preferred.
• Strong internal and external customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and willingness to learn proprietary software.

• Salary range between $61,658.00 and $90,000.00 annually with eligibility for an annual incentive.
• Eligibility for remote work.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship is provided.
