The Role
The Associate, Actuarial supports pricing for several ACA markets and leads efforts to maintain pricing and plan design modeling. It is a critical partner to Market P&L, Insurance Product, and other analytic functions, providing regional pricing strategy, regulatory submission support, and ensuring pricing is actuarially sound.
Work LocationThis remote position is open to candidates residing in Dallas, TX. The role may evolve to include a hybrid model at a local hub office.
Pay TransparencyThe base pay range is $102,240 – $134,190 per year, with eligibility for participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, annual performance bonuses, and standard benefits such as medical, dental, and vision coverage, 11 paid holidays, paid sick and parental leave, 401(k) participation, life and disability insurance, and wellness reimbursements.
Responsibilities- Maintain core pricing and plan design models, ensuring consistency across team users.
- Contribute to regulatory filings, providing viewpoints and recommendations for strategic pricing decisions.
- Offer actuarial perspective to cross‑functional teams for Oscar’s ACA‑compliant Individual and Small Group markets.
- Promote and shape actuarial best practices around automation and documentation.
- Maintain relationships and open communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Aid in onboarding analysts by integrating them into existing processes.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- College degree in a STEM field.
- Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or on track to become one.
- 4+ years of quantitative analysis experience.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong understanding of health insurance concepts and nuances.
