At ZEDRA, we’re looking to add a Tax Manager with strong tax and accounting expertise, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will hold a CPA (or be progressing toward it) and bring at least 5 years of experience. Work Location: Combination of office work in Cambridge (MA), Manhattan (NY) or Miami (FL) and remote work. No set requirement for days in office but occasional days in office is helpful for training and getting to know the other employees they will work with.
Responsibilities- Reviewing C corporation federal and state income tax returns, Forms 5472 and 5471, estimated tax payments, Forms 1042 and 1099.
- Making recommendations for tax savings opportunities.
- Researching various tax issues.
- Resolving issues directly with the IRS and other tax authorities.
- Assisting in managing client engagements from start to finish which includes planning, executing, directing and completing tax projects and managing the budget.
- Staying abreast of new tax legislation and tax saving opportunities.
- Providing accurate communication in person, over the phone or in writing.
- Assisting with litigation support matters.
- Attending professional development and continuing education seminars and meetings and be willing to present back to other staff members.
- Writing professional emails, letters and memoranda for internal and external use.
- Additional duties as may from time to be assigned, including learning of new software and teaching other tax staff members.
- Accounting/ Tax
Experience:
At least 5 years (Required). - Bachelor's (Required), Master's (Preferred).
- CPA or EA (Required).
- Master's (Preferred).
- License/Certification: CPA or CPA in progress.
- Experience with CCH Wolters Kluwer Profx System or Axcess Tax preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to manage a team.
- Ability to interact and maintain strong relationships with clients.
