• Evaluate applications with high financial impact and complexity while maintaining underwriting policies
• Provide training and serve as an information resource for junior underwriters
• Audit applications and medical records to ensure compliance with established guidelines
• Manage all aspects of the underwriting process for the most complex cases
• Assist management with research projects related to risk assessment and underwriting fraud

• College graduate or business equivalent
• Minimum of 7 years of underwriting experience or exposure
• Strong knowledge of underwriting functions and referral areas
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex problems

• Familiarity with the various businesses of the employer
• Strong knowledge of medical science, technology, and terminology related to morbidity
