U.S. Corporate Tax Manager
Compensation: $120k - $150k/year CAD

We are seeking a US Tax Manager who will work with a team of accountants, lawyers, and tax professionals. A confident individual who demonstrates initiative and motivation toward continuous improvement of self and firm processes, and is looking to add value to their clients in a meaningful way.
Primary Responsibilities- Demonstrating an understanding of US tax concepts as they relate to US Personal and Corporate federal and state income tax compliance, including US income tax return review and preparation.
- Preparation and review of US personal and corporate tax returns for clients, including Forms 1040, 1040NR, 3520, 3520(A), 1120, 1120F, 5471, 5472, FBAR Fin Cen 114, and related schedules.
- Conducting federal and state tax research, thoroughly analyzing US cross-border tax issues and drafting technical memos related to specific client matters.
- Utilizing the Canada US Tax Treaty to determine filing positions for cross border clients.
- Interacting with the federal and state tax authorities to assist clients in resolving tax audits, notices, and issues.
- Accountable for engagement planning with junior and senior staff members and scheduling as well as project profitability reports (i.e., budgets, WIP, timely billing).
- Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues relevant to the client’s business, financial entries, and reports.
- Mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing 360 feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
- US CPA designation.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant US tax experience and strong knowledge of U.S. federal corporate income tax law.
- At least 2 years of experience being in a Tax Management role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
- Quick learner, self-starter and exudes a “can do” attitude.
