Senior Finance Associate

Salary: $101,200 to $106,000 per year

Location: Evanston, IL and various, unanticipated locations throughout the United States.

Job Role and Responsibilities
  • Provide regular reporting and financial analysis to support senior leaders of our regions, business units and corporate functions.
  • Identify and resolve any financial issues related to our operations.
  • Conduct proactive analysis on clients and practice areas and identify opportunities for commercial improvement.
  • Provide reporting on our financial status and outlook.
  • Identify financial risks/issues and provide practical advice to help leadership address them.
  • Drive and improve performance in line with strategic plans.
  • Work cross‑functionally to ensure financial success of our client engagements.
  • Engage effectively with project teams and finance colleagues at all levels.
  • Understand P&L revenue and cost drivers to aid client leads in improving profitability.
  • Support with creation and maintenance of detailed forecasts for revenue, cost, and profit, including pipeline tracking and business development support.
  • Increase the awareness of good financial management practices across the firm.
  • Update revenue and profit forecasts for client accounts, markets, and regions.
  • Perform cost analysis to capture insights on company expense trends.
  • Conduct ad‑hoc financial analysis support and support client teams in project pricing.
  • Calculate cost and margin variances from original plan for large ongoing client projects.
  • May work at various, unanticipated locations throughout the United States.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 12 months of experience in a finance role, or
  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with three (3) years of experience in a finance role.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Conducting qualitative analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Performing financial modeling and valuation for internal stakeholders.
  • Conducting financial planning, including forecasting, budgeting, performance reporting, and profit/cost analysis.
  • Automating repetitive tasks, creating custom functions, and enhancing financial models using Excel Macros and VBA.
  • Utilizing Power BI to manipulate, transform, and visualize data and produce forecasts.
  • Applying risk management techniques to identify, assess, and manage potential risks.
  • Communicating data‑driven results to internal and external stakeholders.

Travel

Travel is a requirement for client‑facing ZSers. Business needs of the project and client take priority. While some projects may be local, all client‑facing ZSers should be prepared to travel as needed.
