This role, located in Clinton, CT, offers a salary range of $100,000 – $110,000 per year and the opportunity to work from home one day per week.

- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and systems ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, nonprofit accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure internal controls for monitoring revenues, expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Lead the month‑end close process, reconcile financial activity, and maintain special funds.
- Oversee the organization’s cash balances and cash‑flow forecasting.
- Manage day‑to‑day relationships with banks, agencies, and external parties.
- Mitigate financial risks through research and development of alternative practices and systems.
- Lead the annual audit process, including financial statements, single audit, retirement plan, and IRS Form 990.
- Analyze financial data and present reports accurately and timely; communicate financial statements quarterly and annually.
- Create and distribute financial actuals and budget reports; develop corrective action plans.
- Prepare financial projections as needed.
- Compile and submit financial plans and reports required by state, local, federal, and private funders.
- Facilitate resolution of finance‑related matters internally and externally.
- Develop other staff through feedback and learning opportunities.
- Develop objectives, prioritize, and implement plans aligning with long‑term organization interests.
- Foster team commitment, spirit, pride, and trust and motivate team members to achieve goals.
- Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (highly preferred) with at least 5 years of experience.
- Non‑profit accounting experience (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency with MS Office, accounting software, and payroll systems.
- Knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit, and fund accounting.
