Location: New York

Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per week

This position is hybrid - Tuesday - Thursday in the New York Office and Monday and Friday work from home.

Role Overview

Senior – Derivative Accounting & Reporting performs a variety of duties including accounting and reporting of the Derivatives for NYL, NYLIAC and LINA General & Separate Accounts on a statutory and management basis as well as NYLE on a GAAP basis. Familiarity with derivatives will be beneficial in the preparation and review of certain entries as well as the analytics that is performed in the area.

You’ll Do
  • Provide monthly accounting and reporting of the derivative portfolio for the general account, separate account and NYLE in accordance with SSAP 86, ASC 815 and the Investment Accounting Policy.
  • Prepare and review investment committee schedules on a quarterly basis within tight deadlines.
  • Deliver 3 quarterly reporting deliverables including regulatory schedules, derivative program analysis, board reporting, and Controllers book.
  • Work with our co-sourcing partner to ensure the Schedule DB’s are accurately reported and review reconciliations provided by the co-sourcing partner.
  • Ensure SOX compliance including developing, documenting, testing, and reviewing controls and procedures.
  • Assist derivative team with various projects geared toward improving the efficiency of our derivatives accounting system.
  • Provide variance analysis and other analytics for various business areas regarding the accounting for the various derivative programs.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of derivatives, preferably accounting for derivatives
  • Familiarity with AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT) a plus.
Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $90,000–$139,000

Overtime eligible:
Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:
Yes

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
