Block Advisor Tax Advisor - Remote

Overview

Join H&R Block as a Remote Tax Professional. You will serve clients with diverse tax needs and receive supportive, expert training to be successful. This role focuses on helping clients make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money, through virtual client relationships.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients and support do-it-yourself online tax clients through virtual tools (video conferencing, phone, chat, email).
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Collaborate with leaders and peers, communicating regularly about how remote work is impacting results.
• Grow your tax expertise over time.

• Experience completing individual tax returns.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Access to high-speed, reliable internet.
• Experience and skill with technology (specifically MS Teams and Outlook).
• Ability to communicate complex tax situations concisely via phone, email, and chat to inspire client confidence.
• Experience utilizing effective customer service techniques; analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
• High school diploma or higher; must complete continuing education requirements and meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
• Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during peak tax season.
• Ability to research information using tax publications and tools (e.g., IRS Publications/Instructions).

• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
• Experience completing complex tax returns.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews and tax planning or audit support experience.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.
