Block Advisor Tax Advisor - Remote

Overview

Remote Tax Professional role at H&R Block. You will serve clients with diverse tax needs and receive support from an expert team with advanced tax training.

Base pay range: $11.00/hr - $80.00/hr availability: minimum 20 hours per week during peak tax season.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients and support do-it-yourself online tax clients through virtual tools (video conferencing, phone, chat, email).
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Collaborate with leaders and peers to ensure remote work has a positive impact on results.
• Grow your tax expertise and stay informed on client needs.

• Experience completing individual tax returns.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Access to high-speed, reliable internet.
• Tech-savvy with tools such as MS Teams and Outlook.
• Ability to explain complex tax situations clearly via phone, email, and chat.
• Effective customer service skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Analytical skills and the ability to research using tax publications.
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
• High school diploma or higher; continuing education required; comply with IRS and state requirements.
• Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during peak tax season.

• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred.
• Experience completing complex tax returns and in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax (5+ years preferred).
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews that build client confidence.
• Tax planning and audit support experience is a plus.
