The Loan Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for evaluating the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of loan files throughout the lending lifecycle. This role performs detailed loan audits, conducts loan autopsies on underperforming or problematic loans, identifies root causes of errors, and recommends operational improvements to strengthen lending processes. The analyst ensures adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards while supporting a culture of continuous improvement within Consumer Lending Operations.
Work is primarily conducted in the office with flexibility for occasional remote work.
- 30% - Loan Quality Review & Audit
- Perform pre-funding, post-funding, and periodic quality assurance reviews on consumer, mortgage, and/or commercial loan files.
- Evaluate loan documentation for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
- Identify missing documents, underwriting errors, process gaps, and quality exceptions.
- Validate adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., ECOA, Truth in Lending, Fair Lending, HMDA).
- 30% - Loan Autopsies & Root Cause Analysis
- Lead after‑action reviews on loans that default, incur losses, or present quality or compliance concerns.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis to determine operational, underwriting, or servicing failures.
- Document findings, quantify impact, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with processing, underwriting, credit, and servicing teams to resolve systemic issues.
- Collaborate with credit solutions on loan autopsies and default analysis.
- 20% - Reporting & Data Analysis
- Prepare monthly and quarterly QA reports, trend analyses, and risk insights for management.
- Track error rates, exception trends, and recurring quality issues.
- Maintain a QA database or tracking system for audit results and corrective actions.
- Assist in building dashboards or reporting tools to monitor loan quality.
- 15% - Process Improvement & Compliance Support
- Recommend improvements to lending processes, workflows, checklists, and training materials.
- Participate in cross‑functional quality reviews and improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance audits and regulatory examinations by providing QA documentation and analysis.
- Ensure all QA findings are communicated clearly and follow‑up actions are completed.
- 5% - Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two‑year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job‑specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.

Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
