Overview

Remote Tax Professional at H&R Block: serve clients with diverse tax needs and receive support from an expert team with advanced tax training. You will build client relationships and help clients make confident, informed financial decisions.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients and support do-it-yourself online tax clients through virtual tools (video conferencing, phone, chat, email)
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services
• Collaborate with leaders and peers to coordinate remote work and measure impact on results
• Grow your tax expertise

• Experience completing individual tax returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Access to high-speed, reliable internet
• Experience with technology (MS Teams and Outlook)
• Ability to communicate complex tax situations concisely via phone, email and chat to inspire client confidence
• Experience using effective customer service techniques
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent
• High school diploma or higher
• Must complete continuing education requirements and meet IRS and applicable state requirements
• Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours a week during peak tax season
• Skill in researching information using tax publications and tools to understand client needs

• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex tax returns
• 5+ years in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews that build client confidence
• Tax planning and audit support experience
• Sales and/or marketing experience
