The AML Surveillance Alert Analyst analyzes banking transactions with regard to BSA, AML, and SAR regulations, completes all required reports, and supports the bank’s compliance and regulatory objectives.
In this role you will- Support the Bank’s “client first” focus, maintain a professional demeanor, and provide excellent client service.
- Investigate anti‑money laundering alerts, clear alerts with supporting documentation or file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
- Implement effective transaction monitoring and client account oversight to identify suspicious transactions for reporting.
- Review and analyze all accounts to identify possible suspicious activity and elevate cases as necessary.
- Assist in developing statistical reports to supplement the bank’s current BSA/AML solution.
- Monitors client accounts and prepares detailed investigations for SAR escalations.
- Perform scheduled reviews of critical areas where non‑compliance could lead to civil and criminal liability.
- Expert knowledge of federal regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act, Community Reinvestment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Right to Financial Privacy Act, Gramm‑Leach‑Bliley Act, Regulation E, and the U.S. PATRIOT Act.
- Familiarity with bank security and safety practices.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with IBS, Vision Archive, OnBase, and Verafin.
- Strong “People First” interest and ability.
- College degree preferred.
- Minimum 3‑5 years BSA experience.
