As a Premium Auditor, you will examine the financial records of businesses insured by commercial property and casualty insurers to ensure compliance with laws and regulations. Your primary responsibilities include evidence of fraud detection and verification that insured businesses adhere to regulatory requirements. The role is based at home, with required daily travel to audit locations—on average 2–4 days per week within your assigned territory.
Job Responsibilities:- Conduct insurance premium audits for Workers Compensation, General Liability, and Automobile policies by auditing policyholder records and applying manual rules and company standards.
- Prepare for the audit by identifying the necessary information and records needed.
- Prepare schedules to maximize efficient use of time.
- Correspond with insured parties via phone, email, and mail to set up audit appointments.
- Examine policyholder records, gather data, determine correct classifications of business activities, and write effective descriptions of operations.
- Prepare complete audit documentation, explain results to insured parties, and communicate findings to the home office.
- Travel to multiple audit locations daily/weekly.
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent plus two years of performing premium audits, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial documents.
- General PC knowledge, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of Visual Audit is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with customers and staff.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Maintain automobile insurance while employed, with bodily injury limits of at least $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident or combined $300,000.
- Hybrid position – work from home and complete remote audits 2–3 days per week.
