Joining H&R Block as a Remote Tax Professional means you’ll serve clients with diverse tax needs and you’ll have the support of an expert team, dedicated to providing you with advanced tax training you’ll need to be successful.

Responsibilities include conducting tax interviews with clients, supporting do-it-yourself online tax clients through virtual tools, generating business growth, increasing client retention, and offering additional products and services. You will coordinate with leaders and peers to understand how remote work impacts results and grow your tax expertise.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients and support do-it-yourself online tax clients through virtual tools (video conferencing, phone, chat, email).
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with leaders and peers about how remote work is impacting results.
• Grow your tax expertise.

• Experience conducting tax interviews and serving clients with diverse tax needs.
• Experience in tax planning and audit support.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.

• Experience completing complex tax returns.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews that create confidence in clients.
• Availability to work a minimum of 20 hours a week during peak tax season.
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher; successful completion of continuing education requirements and all IRS and applicable state requirements.

• Experience completing individual tax returns.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Access to high speed, reliable internet.
• Experience with technology (MS Teams and Outlook).
• Ability to communicate complex tax situations concisely via phone, email and chat.
• Experience utilizing effective customer service techniques.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Enrollment in or completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or equivalent.
• Must be available to work during peak tax season and meet all other IRS/state requirements.
