The TBSM Investments team is accountable for delivering on the Front Office and Investments (FOI) initiatives, including the addition of new asset classes to the portfolio as well as new capabilities. The TBSM Investments team develops and maintains investment portfolio reporting and analytics to measure and highlight the enterprise investment portfolio performance, financial impacts and trends.
The Investments team collaborates with the Front Office team in developing the Investment portfolio plan and delivery of that plan. The team partners with stakeholders across the organization including various teams within TBSM including Asset Liability Management, Funding, Liquidity, Hedge Accounting, as well as teams in Finance and Risk to manage the Enterprise Investment Portfolio (EIP) - including US, CAD, TDBEL and TDS HQLA portfolios.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Investment Analytics:25% of time will be spent on portfolio analytics and assisting with the build of new capabilities to draw better insights into the performance of the Enterprise Investment Portfolio. Projects may range from sourcing new data, producing new dashboards, and/or enhancing existing processes. The Intern will work directly with the Senior Manager to leverage Bloomberg, SQL, Power Query, Power Pivot, and/or Python to improve the analytical capabilities of the team.
Investments Credit:25% of time will be allocated toward analysis on issuer-specific credit reviews and the impacts of downgrades and upgrades on the portfolio, in addition to other ad-hoc projects and initiatives.
Investments Stress Testing:25% of time will be assisting the stress testing team on improving the data and results reporting via automation and reporting consolidation, which provides an opportunity to understand the Investment category and risk features.
Support Model/Non-Model Documentation and Coordination:25% of time will be to assist in preparing, maintaining, and organizing documentation for both model and non-model processes. Coordinate with team members to ensure all documentation meets compliance standards and meets regulatory requirements. This includes tracking updates, facilitating reviews, and ensuring timely completion of compliance-related tasks.

Currently enrolled in third or fourth year of an
undergraduate degree
in Finance, Economics, Data Science or Data related field; with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term (requirement of all co-op/intern positions)
Proficient in Excel
Experience with
Power
Queryand/or Power Pivot an asset
Experienced in SQL
Experienced in Bloomberg
Python an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to simplify and present complex concepts and business results in terms understandable by audiences with varied backgrounds
Able to develop and foster a positive working relationship with partners and project stakeholders
Quick to learn and apply new concepts
Demonstrated strong analytical abilities
Ability to collaborate and teach skills and concepts to colleagues
