Bilingual Credit Underwriter — Remote
Remote, 12-month opportunity in the insurance industry for a bilingual lending professional with strong credit underwriting experience. Contribute to strategic adjudication decisions, support high-value client portfolios, and apply commercial banking expertise in a national, compliance-driven environment.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $45-50 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $55-65 per hour.
• 12-month contract.
• Full-time position: hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 9 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities:
• Underwrite and adjudicate lending applications secured by insurance and wealth assets within delegated authority.
• Conduct independent, accurate credit analysis and provide well-supported recommendations.
• Review loan documentation for policy, regulatory, and compliance alignment.
• Maintain portfolio quality and adhere to the company’s credit risk appetite.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve risk mitigation strategies and loan structuring.
• Escalate applications that exceed approval limits to the appropriate authority.
• Complete annual reviews and maintain strong credit governance.
• Support continuous improvement in origination and adjudication processes.
• Promote a risk-aware culture through clear communication of credit decisions.
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting key deadlines.
What you will need to succeed:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or Finance.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial banking or lending.
• Strong understanding of the financial services and insurance industries.
• Experience in credit risk assessment or delegated lending authority.
• Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and proactively.
• Experience with ultra high net worth clients is an asset.
• Private banking or wealth lending background is a strong advantage.
• Bilingual in English and French to support credit adjudication and communication with clients and internal partners across Canada in both official languages.
