As a manager of financial reporting on the Reinsurance Accounting team, you’ll coordinate the financial reporting function, ensuring accounting and financial reports are timely, accurate, and compliant with accepted accounting principles and regulations. You’ll lead the specialized reinsurance financial unit and manage a staff of three to six financial specialists, associate financial reporting managers, and administrative staff members. In addition, you’ll lead all aspects of employment decisions, performance management, compensation and reward planning, employee development, and monitoring of the department budget.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or related field of study (e.g., Finance) and a minimum of 6 years specialized accounting experience (e.g., reinsurance, investments), financial reporting, or public accounting experience, with at least 3 years leadership experience.
- Reinsurance experience in Property and/or Commercial Lines.
- Expertise in reinsurance recoverable (e.g., aging, credit risk assessment, and credit loss impairment), collateral management, and experience with commutations, novations, and complex retrocession programs.
- Strong understanding of the closing processes (e.g., monthly/quarterly close, reconciliations, eliminations, and intercompany/retrocession).
- Advanced skills in Excel (e.g., Power Query, pivot modeling), Workiva or similar for controls/reporting, and Enterprise Resource Planning ERP (Workday). Ability to design data quality checks and support interfaces (e.g., actuarial, claims, underwriting, and treasury).
- Demonstrated experience with project and people leadership, and knowledge of quality and audit processes and standard methodologies.
- $100,100 – $143,000 per year
