Senior Commercial Finance Manager - Projects (Contract)

Location:

Luton (hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home)
Day Rate: £500-£600 per day (umbrella)
Contract Length: 6 months
We're working with a well-known organisation seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Finance Manager - Projects to provide strategic finance business partnering across key commercial initiatives and new propositions.

The Role:

You'll act as a senior finance business partner, leading the financial delivery of complex commercial projects. This will include reviewing commercial agreements, pricing, margins, accounting treatment, and business cases, while ensuring robust financial controls and clear reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

Financial review of commercial agreements, pricing structures, and contractual terms

Supporting the development of automated reconciliation and settlement processes

Ensuring finance requirements are captured for system and reporting changes

Partnering with commercial teams to drive competitive pricing and value creation

Developing MI and performance reporting with commercial and MI teams

Building and maintaining detailed business cases, budgets, and forecasts

Leading all finance aspects of projects, tracking actions, decisions, and approvals

Providing regular updates to senior finance leadership, highlighting risks and issues

Skills & Experience Required:

Qualified accountant with at least 5 years' post-qualified experience

Strong commercial finance business partnering background with significant project experience

Proven ability to manage multiple work streams and deliver to tight deadlines

Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to demonstrate value from finance-led initiatives

Highly analytical with excellent Excel skills

Proactive, self-starting approach with a collaborative mindset

Comfortable operating in large, complex, and fast-paced organisations

Ability to clearly explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
