Grants Accounting Specialist - Community Services

• Provide advanced technical grants accounting support, including budget spreadsheets and complex financial questions
• Complete grant reports, fiscal reconciliations, and conduct compliance research
• Monitor and maintain financial transactions for various grants funded by federal, state, and local sources
• Process accounting adjustments, journal entries, and manage grant provider invoices
• Collaborate with management analysts to create contract modifications and ensure fiscal compliance

• Four years of progressive accounting experience, with at least two years in grant accounting
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting applications, and grant regulations
• Ability to analyze complex problems and prepare written reports
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
• Experience working directly with diverse communities

• Previous experience with human services programs and nonprofits
• Familiarity with local government operations and BARS (Budgeting, Accounting and Reporting System)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
