Associate - Traded Market Risk

Join our Global Market Risk Team based in Sydney who play a key role safeguarding Macquarie from unexpected changes in financial markets by setting and overseeing limits, working closely with trading teams to ensure our risk processes support safe and effective decision making.

As an Associate, you will monitor, analyse and report daily market risk metrics to senior leaders. You will work with trading teams to understand and manage market risks, review new products, and help ensure our systems and limits support accurate and timely risk measurement. You will gain exposure to global markets and collaborate with colleagues across several international locations.

• Strong analytical and decision‑making skills
• Effective communication and relationship‑building skills with people across all levels.
• Ability to balance detailed daily tasks with higher level problem solving and long‑term objectives
• The ability to stay focused and perform well under pressure and tight deadlines
• A bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, science, maths, technology or economics.

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
