Position: Accounting Manager (Remote)

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet reconciliations assigned to you and corporate staff on a monthly basis

Performs/reviews reconciliation of general ledger accounts involving complex transactions

Coordinate with the corporate accounting team to deliver accurate corporate department P&L's on a monthly basis

Reviews financial statement analysis as prepared by senior/staff accountants for appropriate activity relative to budget/expectations for assigned entities

Analyzes/reviews, verifies and posts transactions to journals, ledgers and other records

Analyzes/reviews, investigates and corrects accounting entries as needed

Closely interact with hospital accounting, SMG, SHCN, AR and AP groups to identify areas of operational and accounting efficiencies

Work with director of financial reporting and corporate controller to shorten period end close cycle

Communicate with director of AP to streamline AP accounting procedures and ensure accurate reporting

Leverage data modeling technology to derive entries needed to close each period and to perform variance analysis and reconciliation between subledgers and general ledger

Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of programs, procedures for improved operations, modifications to and/or implementation of new procedures

Assist in establishing long and short term unit goals and objectives to support department and corporate strategic plan

Lead and develop team of 5-10 staff and senior accountants, including supervisors

Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience/Licensure/Technical Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:

Minimum 5 years of experience, BS Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience, including 2 years in a leadership role
Experience in corporate accounting within the healthcare field preferred
Moderate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office
Experience with at least one data modeling tool such as Power BI, Power Query, Tableau, Alteryx, etc.
Proven track record leading projects or identifying opportunities for process improvements
High volume/multi-location experience
Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision in a high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail to be a self-starter
Demonstrated ability to manage upwardly by keeping leadership apprised of foreseen obstacles. This ensures management has as much lead time as possible to react to and/or mitigate issue(s)
Desire to advance within the organization and take on new responsibilities and additional training
