The Commercial Loan Services Specialist 2 is a member of the Government Lending & General Ledgers team within the Commercial Loan Services group. The government lending specialist is responsible for servicing the bank’s government lending portfolios (specifically SBA 7a and other government programs), which includes processing payments, initiating wire transfers, conducting complex research, creating and working with various government‑provided forms, and collaborating closely with our SBA Eligibility Review team and internal partners.

• Work independently using critical‑thinking skills and apply continuous‑improvement principles.
• Monitor and complete various reporting tasks while adhering to SBA guidelines.
• Identify and assist with escalated production and research issues.
• Communicate efficiently with line‑of‑business partners, including loan officers, Guidehouse, and the SBA.
• Maintain strong emphasis on policies, procedures, risk management, and compliance.
• Maintain flexibility to meet team needs.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of financial services‑related experience.

• Apostle degree.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Self‑starter with strong follow‑through, time‑management, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Experience working in a production‑based environment under time constraints and strict deadlines.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
• Experience reading and interpreting complex credit agreements.
• Financial balancing and reconciling experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of Huntington systems and processes.
• Ability to learn complex business processes.
• High accuracy in executing responsibilities.
• Willingness to proactively expand skills and knowledge base.

Not eligible for overtime pay.

Office (some positions may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement; a hybrid model of in‑office and home working is supported).
