We are looking for someone who:

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead strategic initiatives in the renewable fuels sector and serve as the firm’s subject matter expert. In this role, you will drive innovation and compliance across client engagements, guide internal teams, and shape renewable fuel programs. You’ll manage the engagement process, including preparation and review of tax returns, develop tax strategies, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Additionally, you’ll mentor and train team members on technical topics without direct supervisory responsibilities.

Examples of the duties- Lead client engagements across the firm with a focus on renewable energy, including managing the engagement process and reviewing returns prepared by staff.
- Develop tax strategies to optimize clients’ tax liability and credit reporting, streamlining processes and minimizing tax burdens.
- Prepare and review tax returns for renewable fuel engagements, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Electronically research complex tax issues and prepare position memos for partner, client, and IRS review.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of tax code changes, renewable fuel tax policy, and accounting procedures to properly evaluate financial information.
- Be a staff mentor and provide staff with a resource for questions, including technical, procedural, and professional issues.
- Assist in developing/implementing/monitoring tax quality control policies and procedures.
- Develop and deliver tax presentations to partners, clients, and staff, and facilitate briefings for tax and A&A teams to keep the firm informed of emerging tax issues.
- Actively participate in business development and cultivate relationships to strengthen both staff and the firm.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- CPA preferred or currently pursuing.
- 8+ years of public accounting experience.
- Experience with renewable fuels is a plus.
- Expertise in technical research and writing.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills, with experience training and mentoring team members under tight deadlines or complex situations.
- Exceptional client service and relationship management skills with effective, professional communication.
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
- Can work independently but also work effectively with a team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
