Job Summary
The Strategic Chief Financial Officer leads a cross‑functional team (Pod) of accounting and finance professionals to guide clients leveraging the Driven Insights proprietary Client Maturity Model. Clients are early‑stage and growth businesses with a focus on Software as a Service.
In client engagements the CFO serves as a key partner to the CEO and executive team, driving the financial strategy, discipline, and insight that enable the company to grow sustainably and create long‑term value. This role goes beyond accounting and compliance – it leverages the right fractional pod resources to integrate finance, strategy, and operations to shape each client’s direction and performance.

At Driven Insights, you will be the head of a Pod, focused on serving a group of clients and leading the Pod management team to drive connectedness in a virtual work environment. While guiding clients on a journey that increases enterprise value, your pod leadership will be focused on facilitating an outstanding Team Experience and achieving growth and margin goals for Driven Insights.

- Mentor and grow a high‑performing accounting and finance team capable of supporting and growing your portfolio of clients.

- Grow your pod in a scalable, sustainable and profitable manner.
- Support your team with the visibility and tools required to properly guide your clients on their entrepreneurial journey.
Serve as the strategic CFO for a portfolio of businesses. Through a combination of team and individual participation, provide support for the following client priorities:
- Strategic Leadership
- Partner with client CEOs and leadership teams to define and execute the company’s strategic plan.
- Translate strategy into measurable financial goals, operating plans, and performance metrics.
- Lead scenario planning, financial modeling, and long‑range forecasting to support decision‑making and resource allocation.
- Advise on growth opportunities – organic and inorganic – including new markets, pricing strategies, partnerships, and acquisitions.
- Financial Stewardship
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and capital planning.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting that provides clear visibility into company performance.
- Maintain strong financial controls, risk management practices, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Optimize capital structure and manage relationships with investors, lenders, and key financial partners.
- Operational Insight & Decision Support
- Partner cross‑functionally to identify and improve key business drivers – revenue efficiency, unit economics, margins, and scalability.
- Provide financial analysis and dashboards that empower teams to make data‑driven decisions.
- Lead the implementation of financial systems, automation, and analytics to improve visibility and operational agility.
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally in growth‑stage or technology‑driven environments. Some entrepreneurial and/or investment experience preferred.
- Proven ability to generate financial insight and translate that into strategic action.
- Deep understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives that improve profitability and scalability.
- Exceptional communication skills – able to simplify complex financial information for non‑financial audiences.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required.
