Traveling Support Associate (Teller & Personal Banker) – Duluth
Position:
Capital City Bank – More than your bank. Your banker.
Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
General SummaryUnder general supervision and in conformance with established bank policies and procedures, the associate will cash checks, receive deposits, and perform a variety of transactions requested by clients. Responsibilities include balancing daily transactions, maintaining the cash drawer, providing quality client service, answering general questions regarding bank products and services, recommending additional services, and making referrals. The associate will travel and work in offices experiencing staffing shortages on the teller line.
The position requires driving on behalf of the bank and adherence to the bank’s motor vehicle guidelines. All associates must protect confidential client information and practice discretion at all times.
- Recommend and refer additional bank services and products, retaining working knowledge of all products.
- Accept deposits and withdrawals from personal, business, and savings accounts.
- Accept checks for cashing or payment and verify endorsements and funds.
- Sell official checks and travelers checks.
- Accept consumer/commercial and other loan payments.
- Process deposits from night depository.
- Balance money in drawer daily with teller machine.
- Open and close teller window in accordance with procedures.
- Complete Currency Transaction Report (CTR) and hold forms as required.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Issue cash advances.
- Commit to a six‑month position before internal posting for other positions.
Provide additional support to managers and department colleagues. Complete all assigned and required bank training within established timelines.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
(KSA)
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and exercise judgment.
- Concentration to avoid mistakes in counting cash.
- Basic mathematical computation skills using business machines and computers.
- Initiative and ability to work with little supervision.
- Sound judgment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Legible and accurate printing on forms and records.
- Sales experience preferable, particularly in cross‑marketing products and services.
- Age 18 or older for insurance bond coverage.
- Adherence to bank’s motor vehicle guidelines.
Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred but not required. Relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement. Successful completion of an in‑house or approved training program is a plus.
Working Conditions- Travel to various offices; driving required.
- Regular contact with clients, associates, and supervisors.
- Handling of heavy coins possible.
- Environment may be slightly unclean due to currency handling.
