Ferguson's corporate offices in Newport News, VA. Hybrid schedule – eligible for remote work and periodic visits to headquarters.
Responsibilities- Identify global, federal and state tax planning opportunities and lead initiatives such as transfer pricing analyses, management cost allocation studies, merger & acquisition activities, restructuring and other projects. Provide leadership and guidance to Tax Managers and Tax Analysts who support these initiatives.
- Play a leadership role in significant income tax audits and periodically engage in supporting indirect tax audits. Interact with tax authorities on behalf of the company.
- Proactively engage with Ferguson’s business partners to support their tax needs and become a trusted resource for business leaders.
- Handle external service providers.
- Ensure that reporting and compliance impacts of planning initiatives are well communicated and reflected in Ferguson’s tax reporting and compliance, and that any SOX requirements related to projects and planning are properly accomplished midfielder.
- Lead tax special projects and support tax aspects of corporate‑wide initiatives.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of tax laws affecting the company, use that knowledge PARAM to identify risks and opportunities, and update relevant stakeholders.
- 8+ years accounting firm and corporate tax experience. Exposure to international and US state planning a plus.
- 2+ years tax planning and controversy experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of tax laws, regulations and accounting principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact as a proactive strategic business partner.
- Team player with the ability to work with remote team members and support cross‑functional goals.
- Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
- Proficient with technology commonly employed by finance and tax departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field;
Master’s in Taxation or CPA preferred.

Pay Range Back to placeholder:$9,875.00 – $15,800.00 per month (salaried). This role is eligible for a bonus or incentive plan.
